An Interlude for Odette and Pauldoc

By Miss Rori Stevens

Struggling to keep warm
He is tossing and turning
Craving to be warm

Painful memories
Of freezing, lonely nights in
Cells flash through his mind

He knows he's safe here
Yet he does not yet feel warm
What does he lack for?

He tried warm tea and
Extra blankets but he can't feel
A thing - he despairs

And lets out a sob
She rushes in - sees his green
Eyes shedding warm tears

"What's wrong?" No reply
She cuddles him close to warm
His shivering soul

And he smiles warmly.
